Nestled in the tranquil Hlatikulu valley in the Kamberg Region of the KZN Drakensberg and enjoying stunning views of Giant’s Castle and the mountains, Heronmoor Retreat is the perfect place to take a break on our 300 hectare farm.
Situated at the pivot of the Central and Southern Drakensberg, we are ideally positioned for a visit to the berg allowing you to enjoy the peace and tranquillity but with easy access to berg attractions such as Giant’s Castle, Kamberg Rock Art Centre and Sani Pass.
Heronmoor retreat is just over two hours from Durban and four and a half hours from Johannesburg.
Our Facilities
Our luxury self catering accommodation makes a wonderful base whether you want to relax and enjoy the magnificent mountain views, make the most of outdoor activities or explore the nearby attractions.
We also have a small conference centre which is ideal for strategic retreats and small companies. Conferences are fully catered and rates are available on request.

White Mountain Festival
Looking for accommodation for White Mountain Festival? We are conveniently situated for this event close to the Giant’s Castle/Mooi River Road in the Hlatikulu Valley towards Kamberg.
Photo Shoot Special
Go home with some beautiful portraits of you and your family taken by well known photographer Karen Edwards (082 441 7429). For guests at Heronmoor, Karen will do a photo shoot and give you a DVD with the finished pics for you to take home at a very special price of R750.00.
